Davis Waithaka is the Chief Executive Officer at Elimu Holdings, whose program ‘Taking Schools Online’ he has overseen since 2008. He also serves as the vice-chair of the Domain Registrars Association of Kenya (DRAKE) where he is a board member. A committed advocate of private-public sector collaboration, Davis is an instrumental figure within the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA). He holds influential positions on both the Education and ICT Sector Boards, where he chairs the Digital Skills and Values Sub-Sector Board. Davis fervently believes in the pivotal role of the private sector in positively shaping African economies, emphasizing the crucial synergy between thriving businesses and a robust public sector.
In addition, he significantly contributed to the digital future of Kenya as a key figure in the Digital Economy Blueprint Taskforce. His leadership in the National Basic and Intermediate Skills Team underscores his commitment to nurturing digitally empowered citizens.
Davis further champions standards-driven growth as the Chair of the Technical Working Group on Information Technology for Learning, Education, and Training at the Kenya Bureau of Standards. Beyond his professional endeavors, Davis revels in exploring diverse cultures through his travels, occasionally indulging in a spirited game of golf or engaging in friendly challenges of Chess, Scrabble, or Monopoly.
