About the Role

KeNIC, the trusted manager of Kenya’s .KE domain, is seeking a dedicated professional to strengthen our data governance and quality assurance functions.

As a Data Protection & Quality Assurance Officer, you will champion data privacy, drive compliance with the Data Protection Act, and support operational excellence across KeNIC. This is a high-impact role for a detail-oriented, forward-thinking professional committed to building a trusted and secure digital ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor data protection and quality assurance frameworks
• Conduct DPIAs, privacy audits, and compliance assessments
• Guide staff, registrars, and stakeholders on data protection obligations
• Support incident response and data breach management
• Review vendor contracts to ensure privacy compliance
• Deliver training and awareness on data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity
• Support KeNIC’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Process (ADRP)

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of Data Protection laws and compliance requirements
• Experience in audits, risk assessments, and policy development
• Understanding of data security, incident management, and IT environments
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Analytical, proactive, resilient, and results-focused

What You’ll Bring

✅ Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Law, Data Protection, or a related field
✅ At least 1 year of experience in data protection, compliance, privacy, ICT, or legal fields
✅ Working knowledge of data processing, data security, and regulatory frameworks
✅ Experience managing data incidents and breaches
✅ Additional certifications in IT or privacy are an added advantage
