Kennedy Aseda

Kennedy Aseda is a visionary and high-integrity technology executive with over 18 years of experience steering internet infrastructure, cyber security, and digital strategy at a national level. He currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at the Kenya Education Network (KENET), where he oversees national data centers, core networks, and advanced cyber security infrastructure supporting Kenya’s higher education and research hub ecosystem.

A prominent voice in digital governance, Kennedy serves as the Academia Sector Representative on the National Computer Incident Response Team Coordination Centre (National KE-CERT/CC) committee, collaborating closely with the Communications Authority (CA) to defend against national-level cyber threats. His governance footprint extends globally, having previously represented African interests on the Global eduroam Governance Committee (GeGC) and contributed to the Kenya National IPv6 Task Force.

Kennedy holds an M.Sc. in Information Security from the University of London, complementing his undergraduate background in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nairobi (UoN). He possesses advanced industry credentials in network engineering and is a published author on broadband quality, technical capacity building, and community-driven cybersecurity operations. He brings to the KeNIC Board a powerful combination of world-class academic specialization, collaborative innovation, and a deep commitment to the strategic growth of Kenya’s national DNS (.ke) registry.
